Basic Safety
Maintain control
We clean and inspect our bikes daily. We make sure that you will have a care-free ride:
- We help you choose the correct size bicycle and properly adjust it to fit you.
- A properly-fitted bicycle is more comfortable and easier to control.
- We ensure your bicycle is in good working order by inspecting it regularly.
Protect Yourself
Properly-fitted helmets provide protection from a potentially life-threatening head injury. By law, bicycle riders must wear a bicycle helmet while riding on a public road.
Wear your helmet per manufacturer directions.
Be Visible and Alert
Although we design our tours to mainly keep you away from traffic roads, you should still be careful while riding and follow safety precautions:
- Ride in the same direction as traffic
- Ride in a lane when cycling on a traffic road
- Use hand signals before making turns or changing lanes to warn traffic around you.
- Be prepared to stop for vehicles waiting at stop signs, in driveways, or parking spaces.
Don't Drink and Ride
We create our tours carefully, and we re-think every situation. We follow high safety standards. Although some of our cycling tours include wine or beer tastings, we never drink in between riding.
When you go on a self-guided cycling tour, we advise you to:
- Drink only water or soft drinks when cycling. (We have high-quality tap water in the Vipava Valley and some of the best homemade juices from local fruits)
- Take a refillable bottle of water with you.
- When you finish the wine or beer tasting, call us, we will pick you up and bring you back to the starting point.

Condition and purpose
Mountain bikes can be hired at the WAJDUŠNA office in the town of Ajdovščina or picked up after the transfer at the agreed location. The clients are bound to return the bikes to the office at the end of the usage unless agreed differently.
To hire a bike it is necessary to show an identification card or any other legal proof of identity issued on the name of which a receipt for the hire of the bike will be delivered. This receipt state exactly when the bike has been hired and when it should be returned to the office. The whole amount for the bike hire has to be paid at the time of hiring.
Prices do not include insurance. The usage of the bike is at the risk of the renter.
The bike must be returned at the time quoted on the receipt. If returned with a delay, extra hours will be charged. If not returned at the end of the hiring day, we will make a report to the police station within 24 hours.
Bikes can be hired by adults (age 18). For younger guests, bikes can be hired by their parents or trustees.
The hire receipt is a document that must be kept carefully until the end of the hire and it is not allowed to alter its particulars.
During the period of hire, the client has to take good care of the bike. The bike must be kept safe from mechanical damage and used for its purpose only. During the resting time (when not used during the hiring period) it must be kept safe from damage and alienation (theft). The hiring office takes the technical care of the bike and so does the client during the hiring period.
The client is responsible for material damage owing to the wrong handling and usage of the bike. The arisen damage will be valued at the return of the bike to the office. If the bike is stolen, the client has to pay for its value according to the type and model. In case of breakage, the client has to pay for the damage.
